[Dungeon] Lake Finitrias

On the surface, this lake is a very peaceful location, a place where all fauna drinks in a state of temporary truce, unless a hunter is spotted nearby.

However, danger lies just below the surface, as many rare species of fish live on the lake bottom, with armor resulting from thousands of years of evolution and capable of offering protection against artillery. Other creatures are fast enough to nab prey from the lake edge and drag them back into the water and kill their prey from just the shock of the initial bite. Of course, there are a wide variety of other fresh water fish as well, many of them not nearly so vicious or tough, but much, much tastier when cooked.

For a true sportsman, this lake is a fishing battleground.

Above the clouds, Corvus prepares an "emergency" parachute from the lower decks of the airship headed to Privellia. "Yup, this was much faster than walking back. Certainly hasn't taken over a month to get here. No sirree." He chuckles at his joke, then takes a look over the railing at the dense jungle below. "The parachute will help, but let's make sure I land somewhere where my bones won't come flying out of my body when I hit the ground, just in case."

A few moments of looking yields results, in the form of a large lake a few hundred meters ahead. "Perfect. Hopefully this world doesn't have fall damage for landing in water." He waits until the airship is passing over the lake, then leaps onto the railing and dives off the airship, remaining undetected to the crew and other passengers as he plummets from the sky.

About halfway down, Corvus deploys the parachute, preferring to err in favor of being too early, rather than too late. Within the next half hour or so he lands by the lake's edge. He removes the parachute and sets it on fire to avoid being tracked or ticketed for possibly littering, then heads into the jungle itself to find a worthy prize to take back to Revak Port.

There's been things here. Pawprints, uneven and bleeding, trailing behind tiny little footprints skipping along the lake's bank, where the mud hasn't been churned by the other jungle creatures in their search for hydration. Weaving between trees, bloody marks showing where the light-footed's four-limbed companion tripped and fell over snaking roots hidden in the mulch.
