[Rules] Money and Economy Empty [Rules] Money and Economy

There are three types of currency in the Rayfaras Kingdom: Enther, Velli, and Rayfars. Note that Enther and Velli are the singular and plural form, but Rayfar has the plural form Rayfars.

All 3 currencies are produced by mints in Privellia and distributed through paychecks for soldiers and other workers for the kingdom itself, which then trickles to the rest of the kingdom when that money is spent. 100 Enther make a Velli, and 100 Velli make a Rayfar.

Although most official businesses use the Rayfaras currency system, many merchants and stall owners allow bartering instead, which proves especially helpful in jobs such as farming that operate away from the more urban areas.

Another point of note is that the golems of the Cragbone Mountains, due to their more simplistic society, do not use the Rayfaras currencies, or bartering. Rather, they maintain a communistic approach, sharing all resources between tribe members, but fiercely protecting said resources, especially metals and alloys, against anyone outside of the tribe.

To help with determining how much things might be worth, you can use this list of average living costs for people in different economic classes:

Poor (3 Velli/month): The PC lives in common rooms of taverns,
with his parents, or in some other communal situation—this is the lifestyle of most untrained laborers and commoners.

Average (10 Velli/month): The PC lives in his own apartment, small
house, or similar location—this is the lifestyle of most trained or skilled
experts or warriors. He can generally secure any items worth 1 Velli or less from his home in under 10 minutes. This is the range where most PCs will lie.

Wealthy (100 Velli/month): The PC has a sizable home or a nice
suite of rooms in a fine inn. He can secure items worth 5 Velli or less from his belongings in his home in under 15 minutes. PC’s with a skill that can be turned to income, like enchanting would fall under this category, if it is adept or higher.

Extravagant (1,000 Velli/month): The PC lives in a mansion,
castle, or other extravagant home—he might even own the building in question. This is the lifestyle of most aristocrats. He can secure any item worth 25 Velli or less from his belongings in his home in under 5 minutes.

The above pricings do not take magical items into account, therefore
prices may vary due to the rarity of the item, the fame of the enchanter/smith, and other variables. The price should be discussed between yourself and the seller.
